Himalayas

Tough
and long trips take you from one town to another, through
its narrow rocky roads swirling on the edge of precipices
so high you just don't want to think about how old is
the Tata bus that's keeping you from falling. Across the
Zanskar Mountains I reached Leh in Ladakh, troubled region
like its neighbor Kashmir. The final part of my trip took
me north through the highest motorable road on earth to
the spectacular Nubra Valley, whose final length its restricted
to visitors since its still under dispute with Pakistan.
